Origin of Hmong American Day
The City of Fresno's proclamation of May 14, 2023, as Hmong American Day and the upcoming 50th anniversary of Hmong migration to the United States in May 2025 will be commemorated through a collaboration between The Fresno Center, Special Guerrilla Unit Veterans and Families of California, Lao Veterans of America Institute, and Fresno State to honor Hmong history, culture, traditions, and achievements over five decades.
