The day also featured an opening ceremony with keynote speakers, cultural performances, and storytelling sessions that highlighted the community's journey and achievements. Special recognition was given to Special Guerrilla Unit Veterans and the Lao Veterans of America Institute for their service and sacrifices.
Day 2: Celebrating the Present and Future
Sunday, May 4, shifted the focus to the present and future of the Hmong American community. The day included workshops, cultural panels, and performances by K-12 students from local school districts. Hmong artwork and writing projects were displayed, reflecting the community's ongoing cultural expression. A highlight of the day was the presentation of 50-year commemorative medallions to high school and college graduates, symbolizing the enduring legacy and future aspirations of the Hmong American community.
