The Fresno Center was awarded a $50,000 scholarship fund by former Mayor Lee Brand on February 24, 2021, to support high school seniors pursuing higher education. Each year for ten years, ten students will receive $1,000 scholarships, with The Fresno Center’s Employee Giving Program matching the contribution to provide a total of $10,000 in scholarships annually. Applications open in the fall, and winners are announced in the spring.

The Fresno Center is proud to present the 2026–2027 Dr. Tony Vang Scholarship, a $1,000 award honoring Fresno County high school seniors who demonstrate resilience, perseverance, and determination in overcoming life challenges while pursuing higher education. Eligible students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and plan to enroll full-time in college for Fall 2026. Applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation and a minimum 300-word essay. The application deadline is April 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
