Self-care isn't a luxury reserved for special occasions, it is a foundational pillar of health, confidence, and daily dignity. At The Fresno Center Adult Day Healthcare Center, good health begins with feeling valued and cared for.

Many of the clients we serve face physical or financial barriers that prevent them from accessing basic personal grooming and hygiene services. To bridge this gap, we launched the FreshStart Health and Hygiene program, a transformative initiative that pairs essential grooming services with community support to lift up local seniors and adults in care.

Complete Care Through the FreshStart Program

Identified by our dedicated nursing and social services teams, clients in the FreshStart program receive essential personal care designed to nourish both body and spirit:

• Professional Haircuts and Shampooing: Delivered in partnership with owner Kim Smaldino and the incredible teams at Great Clips (5677 E. Kings Canyon Ave. and Clovis Ave.).

• Essential Care Packages: Personal hygiene kits to help participants maintain their health and self-care routines at home.

• Self-Care Education: Empowering guidance that teaches sustainable health, hygiene, and wellness habits.

In an adult day healthcare setting, a fresh haircut is far more than a cosmetic update. These simple acts break down walls of social isolation, ease feelings of depression, and give clients a renewed sense of pride and confidence.
