Help and Support for Immigrant Families After Events in Venezuela
January 7, 2026
Following recent national and global events, including U.S. military action in Venezuela, many individuals and families are seeking guidance on immigration and permanent legal status. KMPH Fox 26 News recently highlighted The Fresno Center as a trusted local resource for those needing support.
Since 1991, The Fresno Center has helped immigrant and refugee families navigate the path to residency, citizenship, and stability in the United States. Originally established to support Southeast Asian refugees, including many from the Hmong community, the organization provided English classes, school enrollment assistance, employment support, and housing guidance.
According to Cherri Cruz, Director of Public and Community Relations, The Fresno Center was created to βwalk families through the whole process.β While continuing to serve those original communities, the Center has expanded its services to support anyone in the community who needs help.
Today, The Fresno Center offers hands-on assistance with immigration paperwork, citizenship applications, and legal guidance, along with workshops and classes. Services are provided in multiple languages to ensure families fully understand each step of the process.
Immigration services are only part of the support available. With more than 20 programs and services, The Fresno Center helps families connect to additional resources that support their overall well-being.
If you or someone you know needs help understanding immigration options or seeking permanent status, The Fresno Center is here to guide families every step of the way.
