The Hmong Oral History Project
Preserving Stories, Celebrating Heritage
July 11, 2025
The Fresno Center is proud to present the Hmong History and Cultural Studies Model Curriculum – Oral History Project, a special effort to preserve and celebrate Hmong history through real stories from the community.
This project is a partnership with the Orange County Office of Education and is funded by the State of California. All videos in the series were professionally recorded, edited, and translated by RISE, Inc.
Sharing Real Stories
The video series features Hmong elders, leaders, and community members who share their personal experiences—from life during the Secret War in Laos to resettling in the U.S. Their stories offer a powerful look into the Hmong journey, culture, and resilience.
Honoring Fresno’s Hmong Community
As home to one of the largest Hmong populations in the country, Fresno is proud to lead efforts that uplift and preserve Hmong heritage. The Fresno Center remains committed to sharing these stories with students, families, and the community.
