The Business Journal for Partnership with EECU
July 30, 2025
The Fresno Center is honored to be featured in The Business Journal for our recent collaboration with Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU), highlighting our shared commitment to financial empowerment and community upliftment. The recognition underscores the incredible impact of our partnership and the importance of accessible financial education for underserved communities in the Central Valley.
In a special event hosted at The Fresno Center, we rolled out the red carpet for EECU during an open house celebration. The day marked more than just a gathering — it was a powerful statement about the role of financial literacy in driving generational change. Guests included EECU President Beth Dooley, Supervisor Brian Chavez, Dora Westerlund, CEO of the Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation, and other key community leaders who have long supported our mission.
The open house was a vibrant mix of celebration, connection, and purpose. Attendees had the opportunity to tour the mobile EECU branch, learn about upcoming financial education initiatives, and hear firsthand how partnerships like these are removing barriers to banking access for immigrant and refugee families.
Being featured in The Business Journal is an incredible honor, as it helps amplify the work being done quietly but powerfully in our neighborhoods every day. We are proud that our collaboration with EECU is being recognized as a model for what’s possible when community-based organizations and financial institutions come together to serve the people.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to The Business Journal for shining a light on this important work. And most importantly, we thank EECU for believing in our mission and standing with us in our effort to uplift, educate, and empower.
