EECU Joins The Fresno Center to Serve Underserved Neighborhoods
Fresno, CA – July 29, 2025
The Fresno Center rolled out the red carpet today to honor the Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) during a special open house celebration, recognizing their crucial partnership in expanding financial literacy and access to banking services across Fresno’s underserved communities.
The event welcomed esteemed guests including Elizabeth Dooley, President of EECU, Supervisor Sal Quintero, Supervisor Brian Chavez, and Dora Westerlund, CEO of the Hispanic Foundation, along with various community partners and advocates. Their presence underscored the shared vision of creating financial empowerment pathways for all.
“We are proud to host EECU and work alongside their team in our shared commitment to expanding financial services and education,” said Pao Yang, President & CEO of The Fresno Center. “This mobile branch is more than just a convenience—it’s a symbol of innovation and inclusion, helping bridge economic gaps and uplift entire neighborhoods.”
The EECU Mobile Branch was on-site throughout the afternoon, offering attendees the opportunity to tour the facility, open accounts, and learn more about credit-building tools and other resources. Even more exciting, the mobile branch will return regularly—every last Monday of the month—to coincide with The Fresno Center’s monthly food distribution program.
This partnership is a tangible example of how public-private collaboration can drive lasting change, especially in marginalized communities. With EECU’s commitment to accessible banking and The Fresno Center’s community trust and outreach, this collaboration will serve as a model for holistic, community-first service delivery.
